Goodbye Cloris Leachman

Post by Kitty »

Cloris died today at age 94.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Rip
I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show
a fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
and celluloid heroes never really die...

Oh I have to say I am deeply saddened by this news, me and the mister both. We absolutely adored her, just from her role in Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety, among her many film and TV credits.

Although sheeseh..who could ever forget her stand-out performance in The Last Picture Show, 1970 as Ruth Popper, the older woman teenage boy hopper, which earned her an Oscar.

 And (maybe I'm alone here) her voice work as the old lady in Beavis and Butt-head Do America.

I never saw that, but I bet she was good, because she was good at everything she did.

Here she is as the scene stealing Nurse Diesel in Mel Brooks High Anxiety.
