Well, here we are, the last film of the fest: The Monkey Talks (1927), with Jacques Lerner. Five weeks sure flies fast, huh? We have until next Monday, March 8, to watch.
Unfortunately this upload is a pretty beat up copy, but it's better than nothing. As us silent film fans know, beggars can't be choosers...

Re: Joy Girl!: Olive Borden Watchfest
Just finished The Monkey Talks. This is a strange (bizarre might almost fit), but poignant and quite interesting tale.
Heads up: The first 5½ minutes or so are severely damaged and virtually unwatchable, but stick with it and the quality improves. (It is best in the middle and goes downhill somewhat again toward the end, but still remains watchable.) The little information you do get in the first damaged part is enough so that you don't really miss anything you need to understand the rest of the story.
It also helps if you tilt your head slightly to the side so the picture is straight.

Hey, guys! I know I keep doing this, but I'm so sorry that I'm behind on this. I'll eventually watch them and comment. In the meantime, don't be afraid to start another Watchfest. I will catch up!

Update: I've watched half of 3 Bad Men. I'm relieved to see that it is just as good as I remember. I'll be back with my full comments sometime.

Ok so I'll post my thoughts so far on 3 Bad Men. Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about. I've been really busy lately, as you can imagine, so I haven't finished it yet.
