Gavin MacLeod
Gavin MacLeod
Gavin MacLeod, well-known TV character actor, whose career spanned six decades, dead at age 90. I really hated to see that—he was always one of my favorites.
Re: Gavin MacLeod
I saw that on twitter a little while ago! I knew the name, and sort of recognized him.

Re: Gavin MacLeod
If you ever watched reruns of The Mary Tyler Moore Show or The Love Boat, he was one of the main characters on both those. He was on a lot of other sitcoms over a long period—pretty ubiquitous. Much later he hosted a New Year's Eve Guy Lombardo special I have a recording of on my computer.

I used to watch Mary Tyler Moore a looong time ago, and probably have never seen an episode of Love Boat. I'm sure I know him from MTM.

Aw, that's sad news. I remember him best from Love Boat.

Re: Gavin MacLeod
I loved him as the long suffering Murray on The Mary Tyler Moore show, I seems to remember he was rather hen pecked. And also didn't he have a not so secret crush on Mary? well anyway he used to verbally spare with Ted Knight's character Ted Baxter, Murray always got the best of clueless Ted. And he also loved to insult Sue Ann Nivens, who didn't!
And he made a good Captain for The Love Boat. For me MTM shows hold up really well over the years, but not so much The Love Boat.

We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!
