Re: Great Folk Singers
Something about the first Tir na nOg one reminds me vaguely of Jethro Tull. Thick as a Brick, maybe?

Could be, but this album predates it. May 1971.

What a great sound they had! This one really has a bluegrassy sound.

The opening titles of the film Georgy Girl (1966), with the classic soundtrack sung by the Seekers. I dig the song heavily, but I've not seen the movie—it looks like a good one. Anyone here seen it?

I haven't seen the film, but have always loved the song. I always thought the song was about a closeted/trans person, as Georgy could be a name for boy or girl. I'm probably totally wrong, but it's what I always connected with the song.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

A beautiful rendition of one my favorite American folk songs, Shenandoah, by Becky and the Bluegrass Boys.
