I'm still obsessed with Jimi Hendrix, as much as I was in the late 60's.

This is one record I can listen to over and over. Written by Paul McCartney under a pseudonym, just to see if it could be a hit for Peter & Gordon without "Lennon-McCartney" on it. It didn't perform as well as their other McCartney songs in the UK, but it did in the States.

Good sound. :) The melody line and chord progressions meander around unusually on that one!

I've been listening to some Doors stereo mixes from 2014 that have been uploaded by their official YouTube channel. I noticed that Light My Fire sounds as though it's a tad higher pitched than I'm used to. Then I listened to the most recent mix of the song, the 2017 remaster for the 50th anniversary of their debut album; now that one sounds like what I'm used to. Which one do you guys prefer? I have to go with the 2017 remaster.

That's odd. In going back and forth between the two, I can hear a clear difference, but I can't pin down exactly what it is. It almost sounds like the 2014 is in a higher key—but it's not. :?: The 2017 is darker and deeper sounding, somehow, but I think I might prefer the 2014, though either would be fine.

Oh most def the 2017 remaster, the 2014 sounds very tinny to me. Now I'm quite interested to listen to the original. I'll have to go look.
This is weird to me, I post Jimi Hendrix and then Betty Lou has Jim Morrison, now the next person will have to inadvertently post a Joplin song. Then we will have the trifecta of rock-n-roll deaths. They all died at the age of 27 and all within the same year, well 12 month period.

Oh dear, found this from 1968, a live performance somewhere in Europe, it seems so affectatious to me now, Morrison's performance, like I'm too sexy and I know it.

I think the difference is that the cymbals are toned down. I like the 2017 remaster better.
