Love this song from Dan Fogelberg's Netherlands album, Scarecrow's Dream.
That's a beautiful song. The lyrics are very strange, like a dreamscape, indeed.

Not a lot of people seem to know that Merry Clayton, the female singer who sang those chilling vocals on Gimme Shelter, actually released her own funk-sounding version where she sings lead. I love this one almost as much as the original :he:

Wow what a dynamic voice! Ordinarily this style is not too much my cup of tea, but I admire her artistry. She really has an effective and powerful delivery.

I love the pensive, haunting quality of this Little River Band song from '77: I'll Be Home on a Monday.

I ran across this the other day—a singer I was unfamiliar with. She has a beautiful, crystalline voice.

1. This sounds like a movie song.
2. Her voice reminds me of Olivia Newton John.

Isn't that a great sound? Thank you posting it. :)

Their music always had such an emotive, yearning sound.

I love Mary Hopkin! She's mostly known for her 1968 hit "Those Were the Days" when she was one of the first artists signed to Apple Records, but she's done a lot of music since. She's a folk singer at heart, and I posted one of her songs early on in the Folk Music thread. I might do a separate thread on her when I get some time.
