Antique Books
Re: Antique Books
That’s great! What’s the copyright date on that one?
Re: Antique Books
1926, Grosset and Dunlap.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Re: Antique Books
I wonder if that was commonly done, to have a book based on a photoplay with pictures from it?
Re: Antique Books
I think it was. I have 3 so far.

Re: Antique Books
I also got a cool vintage card game. The story of Gulliver's Travels is told on the back of the cards. There are 36 cards in all, counting the directions.

Re: Antique Books
How about that! Is there like a certain amount of text on the backs of each one? And regular playing cards on the obverses?
Re: Antique Books
One one side there are pictures. Here is the first card that tells the story.

I see! That’s quite interesting—never seen anything like it. Thanks for the photos. I like the line illustrations that are around the edges of the text.
Looking at the box, I get the idea there must have been other books done as well.

YAYYYY!
Finally got my copy of Moving Pictures: How They Are Made And Worked.
So excited. It literally came from England, although it said it was coming from Florida. So I had to wait almost 3 weeks, but here it is.
