Miscellaneous Funnies
Re: Joke-a-Day
I screenshotted this and his explanation, because while I think the meaning is obvious, his comment is pretty funny.

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Re: Joke-a-Day
I'm glad you included the explanation. I was a little confused, and didn't think of makeup.

Re: Joke-a-Day
For whatever reason, I did think of makeup, but nice to have the confirmation.

Yeah, Fritzi Ritz was definitely not the same style. This page has some examples of the strip in its early days.

Oops! I forgot to include a rating on that one. I fixed it.
I didn't think of the serial killer angle at all until I read his comment.

There was a similar joke on one of the Danny Kaye programs, and the answer was "Your Flagship".

Re: Joke-a-Day
That's an interesting bit of dialect. I once read a story by a British author (Alan Sillitoe, I believe) where a character says "I'm goin' to 'ang messen, mate."—meaning "I'm going to hang myself"—which sounds similar, so that must be the Cockney version of "macel".
