This show was really entertaining! Only about 11 episodes are in circulation, but they're all quality. I wish more episodes existed! Here's an excerpt from one of his shows. I hear that it is from March 10th, 1945. Danny Kaye Ac-cent-uate the Positive!

The Danny Kaye Show
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Re: The Danny Kaye Show
I listened to several of these on my trip today. He was quite a gifted entertainer, wasn't he? I think he was really able to use the medium of radio to its full extent. I also like the other characters, especially Lionel the elevator "boy" and Eve Arden. They were also naturals for radio.
I liked the one where they bought the milking machine by mistake.

Re: The Danny Kaye Show
I just listened to the Singing in the Bathtub episode, the one where he leaves and goes to Washington. I was struck by the beauty of his rendition of the Irish folk song Molly Malone near the end of the episode—very touching.
Re: The Danny Kaye Show
I have to re-listen to these. I remember one that talked about going to the movies? I really liked that one.

I ran across this in one of my Popular Science mags yesterday and post it here since someone in this vicinity is a huge DK fan... (The whole article is online in Google Books if you want to read it.)

Re: The Danny Kaye Show
I am currently at this very moment listening to the first episode of THE DANNY KAYE SHOW. It is so silly and (consciously) corny! I just love this. How amazing he was! I wish there were another like him.
I have listened to this so many times. It is like an old friend I have missed so much.
Have I said this? His rendition of Minnie the Moocher is ALMOST as amazing as Cab Calloway's version. Just Wow.!

Re: The Danny Kaye Show
Yes, I listened to that one back during the summer. I think the shows got even better as they went along. So crazy! Wasn't Eve Arden a good foil for Danny?
