Yeah, I remember those things! They used to be very popular. There were all sorts of interesting shapes. My mother used to have a set of copper ones that hung on the wall.

I have seen them in movies when a neighbor moved into a small town. I believe I tried something like this before with fruit inside. I didn't like it!

I used to try to get Mother to make Jello in those molds (especially when I would see labels on packages like the one below). But she wasn't too keen on it, as I remember. I guess she did do it as a treat sometimes, but she was more interested in them as wall decorations, I think. :)
