Miscellaneous Funnies
Re: Miscellaneous Funnies
I think I was more interested in where the other colored brick roads led to, and what if Dorothy and the Scarecrow had gone down another path. After all, there were two other different directions to take!

That's one way to do it!

Some of us just can't do things the easy way.
Re: Miscellaneous Funnies
This is a very strange thing, but it tickled my funny bone.

Oh so THAT'S how you use a phone. Only one thing is leaving me scratching my head. What's that strange wire coming out of the end of the telephone apparatus?

I love it, especially "the receiver is the end without the cord". Man life was so simple back then.
We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!

Ah, yes, the good old days. You know one bad thing about cell phones? You can't slam down the phone on somebody. That used to be such an essential teenage boyfriend-girlfriend argument technique. Useful in other situations, too... Not that I did it, but...
Re: Miscellaneous Funnies
You know what? I found myself wanting to break my non-flip phone in half in my younger days because I couldn't slam the phone down. I guess we all feel like that sometimes.

Yes, especially in these days of telemarketers. Do y'all get junk phone calls? I get them constantly, from all over the country. They seem to come in spates, too. If it's a number I don't recognize, I don't answer it. And then I go and block it, but it's like mopping up water under a running faucet, I'm afraid.
Re: Miscellaneous Funnies
I get scam IRS phone calls of late. Yes, I get spam phone calls, and just like you I don't answer. I google the numbers, and most of the time I'll block them. You're right; they just call from random spoofed local numbers to trick the less informed.
