I do have to agree, especially the Everett Everett Horton one.
We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!
Re: Unbelievable Ads
I guess if you're not married, you don't have to bother?

Wow, wives can't have no luck. Stockings have to be perfect, drains have to be perfect...

That's hysterical! I think it's more like she was being critical of herself.... He probably was thinking of his last golf match.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

That Drano ad, from the seriousness right off the bat, you'd think the wife was carrying on with the Milkman.

Uh...it's not too far from being whiskey. I think I might know how that relief comes in just two minutes.

10% alcohol! I have a hard time believing that it had a 'delightful' taste.
50 cents seems like a lot of money. I wonder what year this ad is from?

1919 to 1921, according to some info I found. 50¢ in 1920 would be about $5.07 in today's currency, so not so out of line, I guess. Apparently, this company got into some trouble with the FDA because of the alcoholic content. And apparently they prominently mention "whiskey" in the ad in case anyone fails to get the idea.
