Vintage Photos at Random
Re: Vintage Photos at Random
So cool. I wish we knew who they are and what they were going for.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Four girls playing ukuleles in the snow, 1924.
Hope they didn't get frostbitten!

Probably not, but my only question about this picture is: why?

Below is a considerably more somberly dressed group. (I got these photos from a video about the ukulele craze in the '20s.)

They're either really miserable or in deep concentration..... Except the second girl, who is definitely giving the "Are you really doing this right now?" look.

I'm currently writing a blog post about a book I just read, and the original price sticker is on it. This is Schultz Bros. --- These pictures came from http://wheresthekarma.blogspot.com/2013 ... -bros.html
I picked the ones I liked best off this site.
See the finished blog post here. https://blog.silentphotoplay.com/2024/0 ... its-ghost/

Oh my goodness.
Isn't that wonderful?
I wish these existed in super hi-res, so I could inspect all the items.
What I'd give for a chance to whisk back and in time and go there.

Going through boxes so I can fill my new curio (yes, I got a curio cabinet on Sunday, so excited!!) And found some pictures I'd acquired somewhere. Here's one. No idea who they are. I think it fell out of my Thomas Moore book that had all the death notices in it.
And the back of that

Fascinating. Thanks for sharing! I wonder what this photo was taken for.
I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show
a fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
and celluloid heroes never really die...
