Well, do they leave the head and legs attached when making a stole of it? Or is that just a synthetic stuffed one (I hope)?

The Julius La Rosa record ad is a bit odd, too. I can't picture girls at a pajama party listening to that, but I guess maybe they did back in that era...

The is one of those ads that, the longer you look at it, the weirder it gets.

"Hey!...Listen, can you come over tonight? Alice and Emily are coming... yeah, we're going to drink different flavors of ginger ale, wear that fox stole, and listen to some Julius La Rosa!..."

I've seen them with the legs, but idk if they were quite that long.

The most disturbing thing to me is that she's holding the bottle upside down as a microphone. Unless she dried it out well, everything is going to get a bit ginger-ale-y very shortly.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

I've heard of some restaurants using steel drinking straws.

I haven't read all this, and don't know that I'd want to. :) But I thought it was interesting—a long and detailed article about some different dances of the day. Technically from a newspaper (the 1913 Philadelphia Enquirer to be exact), but I'll post it here.
