That one is amazing! :D

I'm with the little fellow—I really wanted to hear that radio program. :)

After the Toy Town Hall started, I immediately recognized it was one of those Hollywood parodies, or rather actually a parody of a radio show with various well-known entertainers. I recognized Bing Crosby, Eddie Cantor, and Rudy Vallee, but had to look up the rest. It turns out the jack-in-the-box is Fred Allen of radio fame (whom I know mainly from his panel appearances on some of the early What's My Line? shows). Here's a page with all the info.

What is the round purple thing in the background at 1:54?

I have no idea! I can't think of what type of toy it could possibly be.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Gifts From the Air (1937)

This is another Color Rhapsody short from Columbia. It was released on New Year's Day. Some radio personality parodies in this one. I think I also spot Ed Wynn in there.

And another Christmas themed one from 1933. It's a Popeye short from 1933 called Seasin's Greetinks! This one is sort of different, and Olive's voice is different.

Another good one! :D I love heartwarming Christmas ones with good things coming to children who need it. Yes, Ed Wynn is in there.

When the boy rubbed the cat's back to get static electricity, that reminded me of something we used to do as children with balloons (but with our own hair, not cats). We'd scrub inflated balloons back and forth on our hair to get static electricity on them that would make them stick to walls or the ceiling. Did you ever do that? :)

On the Popeye one, yes that was strange hearing that voice out of Olive. I kept wondering when Popeye was going to get his spinach fix. :)
