America at Play (ca. 1918)

The rickety tilt-a-whirl roller coaster sure looks safe...

I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show
a fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
and celluloid heroes never really die...

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

What a delightful and interesting short! Thanks for posting. And thank you, Ford Motor Co. :D

What would you give to be able to go back and spend one day?

I'd like to have seen the interiors of that hotel, and also the elephant. :) And how about those people-powered golf carts?

By the way, I used my copy of the MGM 1925 Studio Tour (an amazing short in its own right) for background music for this—made a delightful score. :)

I don't know, but I wish time travel were possible! Would just need a way to obtain cash from the era - getting busted for trying to use "counterfeit" money would be rather a buzzkill.
