This movie was really exciting. I loved the scene where he races on the streets earlier in the film. It was fascinating to see all those old cars driving, and I also laughed a little when I saw the cops that pulled them over----
they were on these little thin motorcycles. The contrast was amusing to me.
I wonder if this was a sequel of sorts? In the beginning, I got the feeling that we were supposed to already know Toodles, though maybe this might have just been a storytelling device at the start, with the titles being written that way.
I thought it was a weird joke that his wife made saying that maybe he was modifying his milk with gasoline.
By the way, I've never heard of Ann Little, but she was so cute, and thought she portrayed the mother well. Regarding her character, though, either it is a
very new marriage, or their marriage is very frail for her to leave him on this point. Although promises are extremely important to keep, I don't feel that leaving the house with the baby was the correct punishment for his wrongdoing. On the flip side, he never really seemed intent on keeping the promise that he'd made in the first place, so he never should have made it in the first place. Promises shouldn't be thrown around like water, unless you agree with and are extremely intent on keeping them.
Furthermore, she married him knowing that his passion was racing. He obviously still
wanted to race, but agreed to stop for her happiness, at the risk of his own. I have a strong view that people need to do what they love to be happy, and stopping people from doing that is one of the cruelest things you can do. That is squashing a spirit, so to speak, and knocking that person down to a square that really isn't themselves.

Just a couple things I'd criticize, which really isn't the fault of the film itself: The music is annoying, and it's a shame that the picture is cut off on the left side. Other than that, great film!
Hmmm, I think that's it. At a short 48 minutes, this is still a full movie. It's got conflict, action, and even a happy ending where baby isn't sick, but healthy as a lion. Speaking of that baby, what a cutie pants, am I wrong?
See, that’s just a weird thing to me. Personally, I would almost ask that question the other way round. And some more questions the Dorcas case brings up: 1. What caused bad eyesight to be associated with intelligence or scholarly acumen?? 2. Were eyeglasses supposedly unattractive because of that association? I'd be interested to learn the strange psychology behind those views. (Hard things to google. By the way, on an unrelated note, I did try googling the first occurrence of an animated character being immune to gravity until looking down 
—but I drew a blank on that, not surprisingly.)
