The Military Air-Scouts (Vitagraph, 1911)
In terms of plot, this is a very slight film, but it’s interesting for its prescience. Set in the not-too-distant future of 1914, it imagines a war involving the US and all of Europe. It guesses the war will begin at the start of August. WWI really began a little more than a month earlier at the end of June.

Interesting! Thanks for this!
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Now showing is the Alice Guy-Blaché short Officer Henderson (1913).
I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show
a fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
and celluloid heroes never really die...

Thanks for posting! :D That's a nice little comedy, though rather slow-moving, especially in the early moments. And it stars two of my favorites of Guy's company, Fraunie Fraunholz and Marian Swayne. They also appeared in A House Divided and Matrimony's Speed Limit, both from this same year and both favorite shorts of mine.

And do you remember Fraunie in the more serious role of Sem in The Ocean Waif? I went back and watched that again the other day. :he:
