Why, indeed. I understand the ukulele part, but the get-ups in the snowy weather I can't answer for. Below is a considerably more somberly dressed group. (I got these photos from a video about the ukulele craze in the '20s.)

Going through boxes so I can fill my new curio (yes, I got a curio cabinet on Sunday, so excited!!) And found some pictures I'd acquired somewhere. Here's one. No idea who they are. I think it fell out of my Thomas Moore book that had all the death notices in it.
