Yes, just can't look at it too long without getting dizzy. :D I've heard the Woolworth Building is very beautiful. Have you ever seen it, NJ girl? And I don't believe it is too far from the World Trade Center site. I don't know if it sustained any damage on 911.

No, I have never seen it. If I knew back then what I did now, I'd have seen much more historical type stuff when I lived in NJ. For example, it's annoying that I was so close to film history and hadn't become interested enough in it yet to think about it.
Someday!

Yes, that's right! The whole film industry was in/around Fort Lee, wasn't it, if I remember right? Did you ever do any more reading in the Linda Arvidson book where she talks about their jaunts over to NJ?

I did not, but writing that posts made me think of it. It's on my Kindle, I will!

Yes, that's a delightful one! I remember seeing it years ago. Tolstoy is such an interesting person.

If you can believe it..... This picture was taken in 1902. It's called The Sketch.

That is stunning! And it sure doesn't look that old, does it? I can't figure out exactly why, though.

I think it's the lighting maybe.

Yes, that may be it. The background looks its age, but if you cover up the upper two-thirds and look at the shadows, etc., in the foreground, it looks more like a modern photo.
