Wonderfully sexist ad from the April 1940 Edition of Radio Mirror. If my hands were that bad, and since it was still the fashion, I'd probably just wear gloves while out. Why were the men in advertisements so blatantly rude to their significant others?

:lol: Isn't amazing to what lengths advertisers have gone to sell products. Has anyone ever really judged someone by how chapped their hands were? :lol:

Right? It's advertisers that shape the modern idea of beauty, and who make women (or men, for that matter!) feel so self-conscious of things that one might never notice.
