Magazine Ads
Re: Magazine Ads
I get a kick out of the fact that it's advertising the movie "in color by Technicolor".... But the ad is in glorious black and white.

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Re: Magazine Ads
Halo means natural beauty the first time that you use it! You need no special rinsing after you use it!
I think I'd try Halo Shampoo if it still was available. The jingle alone would have gotten me lured in! I was so overjoyed to see this in my Movie Story Magazine.

Re: Magazine Ads
I thought you would. I always get a kick out of old ads that have personified objects. Speaking of which, that reminds me of the cartoon “Bottles.” It’s wonderful. Have you seen it?
Re: Magazine Ads
No, I haven't!

Re: Magazine Ads
I was going to try to post it, but it doesn't appear to be available on YT at the moment. It's one of those Happy Harmonies cartoons made in the '30's. A pharmacist falls asleep one night and has a nightmare where all the bottles of products in the store come alive. Pretty neat. There is a similar one set in a bookshop where the books come alive, but I can't remember the title of that one. I'd like to find it.

That's pretty cool, if somewhat laborious. That reminds me of the homemade filmstrips we used to make when we were kids.
