You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Those old victrolas with the horn speakers are so aesthetically pleasing in appearance. Here is another Edison ad.

An interesting ad for Sargol to make you fatter. Yes, I said fatter. And how skinny were some people that they needed to beef up to look like the lady in the picture? This is in Motion Picture Story Magazine August 1912.
I looked around, because I am a :geek: and a curious person, and saw this interesting article in a 1917 issue of Journal of the American Medical Association. It tells the whole story of Sargol Company and how it was a fraud.

This is a cool one advertising the Brownie camera for use by the public, specifically for children. Motion Picture Story Magazine August 1912.

Here's another for the Brownie. This is from a reproduction of the 1911 Boy Scout Manual that I have. You can tell that the image quality wasn't that great (looks like in the example in the ad, they've had to do some retouching to make boy's clothing stand out sufficiently from the background). I guess this was the dollar Brownie, though, probably. But it must have been a lot of fun for them.

This without a doubt was a predecessor to the Polaroid!

Here's a two in one, an insurance ad from 1911 or 12, and an advertisement for the new and improved typewriter. No more 3 o'clock fatigue, girls!
