Vintage Supermarket Photos
Re: Vintage Supermarket Photos
I noticed in the breakfast scene in We're OK in Brick, NJ that the father was pouring a bowl of Sugar Pops, or Sugar something or other. Maybe he was just pouring it for one of the kids, but it looked like that was what he was going to have.
Re: Vintage Supermarket Photos
I noticed that! Yes, that was definitely his breakfast that morning lol
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

A Heinz employee places labels on bottles of green olives.

I like this one a lot. I wonder what store this is? There is a banner that says California state

Somewhere in California, is all I can dig up, and the year is apparently 1935.
This page seems to be the original source—several other good pix there. The girl I guess is his daughter (or granddaughter, more likely).

Notice in the last photo, there are what appear to be photos of movie stars covering the wall. Man, that looks like an interesting place—unique in its day, rather than typical, I would say.
Re: Vintage Supermarket Photos
Are they all from the same store? The first one says waller's cash and grocery. I found a PDF that lists a Cole and Waller grocery at 1603 Waller San Francisco California. I wonder if that's it?

I don't know—I guess it's probably more than one store. Yes, I noticed the Lux!
