A pharmacist works the soda fountain at the Clayton & Edward Pharmacy at 1138 3rd Avenue and 67th Street, New York City circa 1948.

Notice the Heinz soups, including genuine turtle. )

Oh my goodness! How cute! I wonder what this is about. The couple behind them look like a wedding couple, too.

Yes, I didn't even notice that. Maybe they were winners of a supermarket sweep contest for newlyweds or something.

I'm trying to figure out an approximate date on this one, at least a decade. What would you say?

I think late 20s-early 30s. This is based on the fact that Darigold was founded in 1918, and the ad with the girl on it in the top right corner is very much of the era.

Yes, that was my thinking. Most of the clothing is pretty much non-datable. But I was looking at the grocer's glasses style, the women's shoe styles, and the light fixtures. (Also the young man's cap.) The Hill's Brothers was no help, as they apparently used that same logo from early in the 20th century on up into the 50's (at least).

I couldn't figure out the girl in the bathing suit ad. Is that like a cutout with her legs extending over the shelf? The side of the ad must out of view.
