Here's another from my Thomas Moore book. A newspaper clipping of a long poem in memory of the death of (I assume) Lincoln.....although now that I think of it, it could have been McKinley or Garfield. I have looked on the Internet for a while, and I have come up with nothing except that it is Brodhead, not Broadhead, and Truesdell, not Truesdale. I wish I knew more about this. Here it is, front and back. With it, a bonus 50cent ticket.

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Re: Newspaper Articles
That's quite interesting. I would like to know more about it, too. Here are a couple of references to the poet I turned up. From this information, I'm guessing it must have been Lincoln. I see that she wrote a book of poetry in 1854, which I saw elsewhere has been digitalized, and might be online somewhere.

Edit: but she died in 1911, so it could well be Garfield or McKinley, I suppose.
Edit 2: there seems to be some confusion whether it's Truesdell or Truesdall.

This could have been written today. From The Falls City Daily News, December 1918, during the flu pandemic.

Re: Newspaper Articles
Lucky nowadays we have the Internet, and can watch our favorite stuff at home I'd like to read on how the pandemic affected the film industry.

Someone posted this on Twitter, and I had to share. It's from the October 21st, 1918 San Francisco Examiner.

Re: Newspaper Articles
How about that. So mask-resistance is nothing new, it seems.

Santa was in a bit of hot water, so to speak. Someone on Twitter posted this from The Elmira Advertiser 1950

Re: Newspaper Articles
Jeez, Lady Duff Gordon is popping up everywhere. If we survived the 1918 pandemic we ought to be able to all suck it up and get through this one. The article from the theater owners could have been current.Kitty wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 11:54 pmSomeone posted this on Twitter, and I had to share. I liked the article about the child being dropped by Santa, I don't mean to suggest I liked the fact that a kid was dumped on his noggin however. Just the outcome of the incident.
We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!
Re: Newspaper Articles
Here is the film synopsis that I mentioned here - http://forum.silentphotoplay.com/viewto ... 123#p21123
I believe this is a synopsis of a Hazards of Helen episode, a serial that ran for 119 episodes. It would be wonderful to find out which chapter so as to nail down which episode it is from.
On the other side of the fragment is a delightful short story that apparently came out of Youth's Companion, though I've yet to figure out which issue. I do not believe that the overall fragment is from a Youth's Companion issue, rather reprinted here in a different publication.
