1. Vaseline. Um, isn't that petroleum jelly?
2. Why is there a giant closeup of the woman’s eyes at the top?
3. Why would ability to detect an art forgery be related to the brand of hair tonic being worn?

a. Is Vaseline supposed to make you develop these powers of observation, or do people with these powers of observation just naturally gravitate toward Vaseline?
b. Assuming the latter, I guess it follows then that if you gravitate toward Vaseline, you can feel good about yourself?
c. But further, if you don’t gravitate towards Vaseline, you don’t have said qualities, so it’s no use anyway what tonic you use? (Like, what’s the psychology here?)
5. What has any of this to do with making your hair look better or being more manageable? I thought that’s what hair tonic was probably used for?
6. Not that familiar with auctions, but would the woman be already paying right in the middle of it? Don’t you do that when it’s over?
