Just heard that she passed away. RIP
The last big news I heard about her was when she became a Swiss citizen. I also found out in a news obit that she was a devout Buddhist.

I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show
a fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
and celluloid heroes never really die...

Whenever I hear her name I remember the time when Janis Joplin was on Dick Cavett and he asked her in her opinion who she thought the best right now was and she said "Tina Turner, she's the greatest." And he said "Would it surprise you if I said I've never heard of her?" And she said "No, most people haven't."
Even then, Janis knew she was talented.

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
