Rose Festival Princess 1954

Let me know if I've posted this before.
This is an interesting recording of first the introduction of one of the 1954 Rose Festival Princesses in Portland, Oregon, and second, her acceptance speech. Notice (you'd be hard pressed not to!) how pronounced her words are throughout the speech. She practiced and worked on this very hard!
The boy.... perhaps not as much.

A photo from that year's court. Our girl is third on the bottom. Info taken from https://www.volgagermansportland.info/j ... aller.html
"The 1954 Rose Festival court from left to right: bottom row, Princesses Joanne Broom, Girls Poly; Maureen Doherty, Lincoln; Marilyn Larsen, Roosevelt, Elaine Lord, Franklin; top row, Princesses Donna Goode, Cleveland; Jan Markstaller, Washington; Barbara Manly, Jefferson, and Thelma Lowenthal, Grant. Published in "The Oregonian" on June 6, 1954."
