Quote of the Day
Re: Quote of the Day
"Be the kind soul that makes everybody feel like a somebody." --- Brad Montague
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Re: Quote of the Day
A nice thought I ran across in my morning devotion:
Regardless of circumstances, each day is unique gift from our Creator that we can receive with gladness.
So true...too often we let worry, stress, anger, yesterday, tomorrow...rob us of the unique gift of today.

You're so right. I'm going to try to start my week with that thought when I get up tomorrow morning.

"Now, one of the worst things about civilization is, that anybody that gits a letter with trouble in it comes and tells you all about it and makes you feel bad, and the newspapers fetches you the troubles of everybody all over the world, and keeps you downhearted and dismal ’most all the time, and it’s such a heavy load for a person. I hate them newspapers; and I hate letters; and if I had my way I wouldn’t allow nobody to load his troubles on to other folks he ain’t acquainted with, on t’other side of the world, that way."

"I feel so low, old chap, that I could get on stilts and walk under a dachshund." - Monty, It (1927)
Re: Quote of the Day

The more news exposure I have, the more I feel cynicism, anger, and anxiety rising in me. So not liking feeling cynical, angry, and anxious, I've developed the habit of limiting my news to just the top headlines needed to stay informed—and that from a neutral source. (So for yesterday, I know about the new Pope being elected. That's about it.
