I didn’t realize he’d starred in that biopic until I looked it up. I’ll bet he was good in that rôle. [Notice quaint spelling Have you ever noticed that in old books? You also sometimes see hôtel and coöperate.]

Yup! I definitely noticed that! Regarding the umlaut over the o, I never fail to see a surprised face.

Yes, rather a primitive emoticon. Also we have to-day and to-morrow. I think those were still being used in the movie magazine days, weren't they?
