I think they could have left the thing with Jeremiah out. That's pretty campy and it's totally unrelated to the present plot.

I thought that was very sad learning what happened to Peter. I felt very sorry for Vicky.

I think it’s cool that Vicky has been where Barnabas was and is able to relate to the people he knew. It would seem that would mean something to him. But he is apparently too much on pins and needles.
"Josette didn't come to marry Jeremiah. She came to marry you." Wow!

The makeup around Vicky's eyes looks strange (the oval shapes on the outside of her eyes later in the episode). Is that from crying, or what?

The change in Julia's hairstyle during the episode is kind of odd, how they had to integrate it into the dialogue, I mean. I wonder exactly how that happened since the shows were taped in one go and the cameras didn't stop rolling.

The ending: Do you think he will really do it??

Interesting episode! And brings out lots of questions...
So Phyllis Wicke, then, was the governess who was actually framed by Angelique?

Yes, it appears to be so. I wondered if Vicky's presence was creating a butterfly effect that might have changed the history of the family, but it just looks like she took the place of the other governess, and it would have happened no matter what.

By the way, how horrifying must it have been for the real governess to be transported to the future and then suddenly be transported back to her own time only to be hanged and never know why?

It's been so long since we were in the present time that I'd forgotten some of the dynamics between the characters.

I'd totally forgotten about the Carolyn thing.

I enjoyed seeing the shocked looks on Barnabas's face when it was obvious that Vicky had been in the past. I wonder why he is fearful at what she knows. If the original "witch" (Phyllis) didn't know the truth about what Barnabas was, why would Vicky as her stand-in?

I don't think he quite thinks things through for the most part.

I wonder if Peter will ever be able to keep his promise and travel through time to be reunited with Vicky again.

We can hope, but with their track record on this show, they probably just set us up for a long, hard fall.

And Buzz never showed up in 1795. One of my great disappointments... Oh, well, one can't have everything.

What a loss!

Man. Doesn't it seem like ages ago the days of Burke Devlin and Bill Malloy?? In one way, the plot of this show seems to move so slowly, yet look at the amazing distance covered between then and now—less than two years. I looked it up, and the first episode aired in June 1966 and 461 in April of '68.

Mostly my fault for waiting so long to watch these.

She should have known better. Why get involved with someone when she wasn't even from that era? Only Vicky would find someone while being locked up accused of being a witch

I know!!! And anyway, given his rapport with her, he could probably make her understand it all. She could be his ally rather than having to hypnotize everyone.

I guess I should have known. Everyone always knows Angelique when I bring up Dark Shadows, and people certainly don't remember the 1795 timeline when they recall their favorite supernatural soap opera from the 60s .

What a strange episode!

I'm surprised Vicky didn't call Joe "Nathan" when he came in the door. I've forgotten now, Joe is still dating Maggie, is that right?


I'm confused about Vicky in the last scene. She is supposed to be under Barnabas's spell (and she must be, to be willing to go with him), and yet seems to have a compulsion to figure things out as her normal self. Do you know what I mean? I.e., if she's under his control, why would she have the free will to be driving off in a car to satisfy herself about something against his wishes? And it sure does look odd to see Barnabas in an automobile.

What! Did she just kill Peter?!

It sure looks like it. Or a modern-day equivalent of him.
