WHY did Roger back out telling her? And that was an unbelievably lame substitute of a story. "I looked for Barnabas and couldn't find him." Huh?? Could he not come up with something better than that? And how was that, in Clark's words, "going to be destroying some of the happiest moments" in Vicky's life."

Why is Vicky up at 2:30 AM for no reason?
Why is Roger even now not revealing the truth to her if he is so adamant about not wanting her to marry?
What is the strange hand gesture Angelique makes at 6:34?
I don't understand why Barnabas believes Vicky is the one to help him.
Adam wants Eve, Eve wants Jeff, Jeff wants Vicky.
Nicholas wants Maggie, Maggie wants Joe*, Joe wants Angelique, Angelique wants Barnabas, Barnabas wants Vicky.
*kind of
Vicky seems to be the focal point.

I'd forgotten about Barnabas's plans to do away with Eve.
So I guess Adam now is on his way out as well?
That sure is a long date Nicholas and Maggie are having.

I think she was shielding stage light that was shining in her eyes.
I get why they picked Jonathan Frid to play the resident vampire. He has the perfect look for a vampire. But I don't think the way they wrote the character is in keeping with his look. He just looks way too old to be chasing young women (Vicky) and being controlled by young women (Angelique is 200 years old, but still looks young). Grow up, Barney! You're like 250 years old!!! They're even starting to change the character of Roger into a blithering idiot.
P.S. Weird writing credit around 20:37. Also looks like something in the credits "fell" after that.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

I had to look back to see what you were talking about. (You notice lots of things I miss.) Yes, something did fall off. That's a reminder that a lot of things you'd assume were electronically produced were actually physical objects, like the rolling credits. I remember being surprised to learn that when they would show like the name of the network, that was actually on a paper card set up on an easel and filmed by the camera.

I just find that stuff fascinating! Dark Shadows is so low budget and feel like such a cardboard setup. That's why I watch the credits so closely. There's always something interesting to catch!

I think if I were Vicky, I'd be so tired of all these men surrounding me saying stuff like "I can't tell you the reason why so and so is in danger! You just have to trust me!" She needs to dump this life, including Jeff, and start over, especially since she doesn't care anymore where she came from. I still think the writers missed an amazing opportunity to close up Vicky's "Where did I come from" mystery with a realization that she was actually part of the Collins family all along. Remember, she was summoned to be the governess for David as a specific request. It had to be her. She didn't know why they had picked her of all people for the job. But, as we know, that whole narrative was abandoned.
Say, is Joe in the same exact hospital bed that Pop died in? Wow, Joe actually gave Hoffman useful information! Usually they're like "I can't tell you who is the culprit of my condition! I'm fine!" This time he warns Hoffman to stay away from Nicholas.
I think Angelique should summon powers higher than Nicholas. He strikes me as not exactly being top dog where he comes from, though he puts on his big britches around Collinwood.

Hoffman says "Cassandra has come back as Angelique!" And I misheard "Sandra". It took me a moment and a half to try to remember who Sandra was.
If only Barnabas figured out long ago that holding a cross would shield him from Angelique's powers, he would have saved himself a lot of trouble.
Side note: What a shame that they're wasting this house! What an amazing mansion they have! I want them to clean up the cobwebs and refurbish the rest of the house! What are you doing with your money? Saving it for David?! Fix up that dream house! ::end rant::

Willie: "That portrait is 200 years old, you expect me to believe...."
Yes, Willie, we do expect you to believe this. Are you new here?
The portrait behind Nicholas at around 6:10 looks suspiciously like him.
The clock at 14:21 is quite possibly the ugliest clock I have ever seen in my life.

Idk, he looks pretty much in command to me. What gives you that impression? Of course on the other hand, he does chicken out a lot; and Angelique obviously is not afraid to disobey him constantly behind his back.
I was right! Only, where is Angelique staying now? It looks like the old house, but that would be doubtful.
What's with that giant beetle on the wall at :57
Eve's grinning face through the gate just after Jeff has convinced Vicky to set the date...yikes! What a way to kill a buzz.
The light on Angelique's and Eve's eyes is extremely well done in the final scene. I wonder what kind of "proof" she's going to get. (I kind of wish she'd get stuck back in 1795. I just don't like that character at all.)
