Antiques Roadshow

Post by Kitty »

Ok, I know this is not 'classic' old, but I wanted a spot to share cool Antiques Roadshow finds.
I love automatons, and here's a beautiful one. It's a clown magician. Weirdly, this is not the exact clip that was on the show I watched earlier.

Cool! That's the first one of those I've ever seen, though I've heard the name. That's well-made; I can see how it would have been expensive.

When I first saw this doll, I said "wow" out loud. It sure is beautiful. It's a Kammer & Reinhardt doll, ca 1915. Here is the clip of the appraisal from the PBS website. It's funny how many of these appraisals leave me in tears!!!

Wow...that's something, isn't it. I wonder if she's going to sell it or keep it. That might be a hard decision to make, in some cases.

If it was me, I'd keep it forever! It was special to her grandmother, so I feel it should stay in the family.

An amazing story involving Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

P. S. - I just discovered that he and I share the same birthday!

That is amazing, for sure! Roy and Dale were indeed extraordinary people. He's a good one to share a birthday with. :)

This is pretty cool, a set of silent film sound effect instruments.

That's pretty neat. I'd like to see the all demonstrated. :)
