I've Got A Secret

Post by Kitty »

Here's a really fun one with Jack Benny. I just watched this on tv. I often get I've Got A Secret mixed up with What's My Line. What about you?

That was a great episode! That was classic when he hit the treasury official for burning the money. And that was quite amazing about the twin brothers. What a coincidence, or I should say series of coincidences!

Yes, it is easy to mix the two shows in your mind because of the similarity of formats.

This episode is hilarious!! The whole episode is quite interesting, but if you fast forward to around 14:45, the part where Steve Allen comes on is the highlight. I love it! P.S. Garry Moore was a very short man!

That was an interesting one. I enjoyed seeing George Gobel—I've always liked him. I wonder if the U.S. forces still have that enemy country deal—I kind of doubt it, probably military intelligence and strategy is too complex and sophisticated for that anymore.

The telephone thing was kind of weird. I like that dance Garry Moore did. I wonder how tall he actually was?

I'm going to guess about 5 foot 3 or so. Steve Allen was 6 foot 3!

I also found it interesting how much Jayne Meadows sounds and looks like her sister Audrey (of The Honeymooners).

These old I've Got a Secret shows are good—I've not actually watched a lot of them yet. At one time I went on a What's My Line? binge and watched about everything that was available on YouTube of those—but there have probably been more posted since.

Wow, he was a kid there. This must have been made in the '40's. He looks younger than he did on the New Years 1950 What's My Line?

He really does look young! Does he seem to have a crew cut here? I can't tell. If so, it's probably from the 40s. This could have been during The Garry Moore Show.

You should take a few minutes out and read his Wikipedia page. It's very interesting! My favorite part is the part under 'Television' about the show he knew was going to be bad.
