I read it. That was an interesting bit about the "bad" show. :D The photo above shows him with an ABC microphone, yet no mention of ABC is in the article, which states that he was always associated with CBS. So that would also point its being a very early photo. Yes, he does appear to have a crew cut. I believe he did on that 1950 WML show, also.

I could be wrong, but it sort of looks like the photo is doctored up, and the mic added.
Yes, I believe they referenced being famous for a crew cut. Could have just cut it if i recall correctly.

It is odd that it's ABC. That looks kind of like the inside of a radio sound booth, so it was probably in his pre-TV days. I've noticed that the networks liked to take publicity photos of personalities with their mike prominently displayed.

Joan Crawford on I've Got A Secret. I love the way she reacts to the compliments and applause. This is a really interesting clip.

That was kind of odd, the lip-syncing the scene idea. I'm not sure what they had in mind there...but it was nice to see Joan on this show. She was a real legend.

It's amazing to see Betsy Palmer so young in the film clip! I think she was beautiful.

Because it would have to be flashy and loud to get people's attention nowadays! It was a different time for television.
