Although it's disappointing that Moltke left, I don't think that scene would have been as wonderful if it was her doing the acting.

I thought the same thing! The actress really put her heart and soul into that moment.

Absolutely! There were more than 30 written by the same woman. I found them at an antique shop. Such an exciting find! And supposedly they're standalone with separate lore that isn't consistent with the TV show, so no spoilers.

Edit: I've already read a few chapters and it is excellent gothic reading! Absolutely different from the TV show, which is wonderful. It begins with Elizabeth and Victoria in the library. Victoria is looking at a journal of Jonas Collins, Elizabeth's grandfather. She reads the name of Barnabas, and asks Elizabeth about him. Elizabeth says there was an original Barnabas Collins, after whom Collinsport was named, who went to England. Later, his grandson Barnabas came to Collinwood to visit Margaret Collins, Elizabeth's grandmother. Elizabeth and Victoria get comfortable so Elizabeth can tell the story that her grandmother told her when Elizabeth was just a child. The next chapter reveals that Margaret never told her the whole story, and we get to hear the real story of what happened when Cousin Barnabas comes to live in the old house.

Excellent gothic reading. I'm reading it aloud to my dog and he seems to like it, too!!

Yes, I am going to go back to the beginning of these books. Since they're so good, I'm planning on reading the whole series. The first 5 are about Victoria.

P. S. There are so far a few typos in the book. Reminds me of all the bloopers in the show!
