Re: Voices of the Fans!
Nettie's letter ended up garnering a response!
I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show
a fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
and celluloid heroes never really die...

Re: Voices of the Fans!
Glad it got a reply. However, Nettie doesn't sound much like a person who ever has good humors.

From an article in a 1927 Photoplay (May, I think?) entitled Their Funniest Fan Letters:
Smooth

Re: Voices of the Fans!
I guess it's similar to the term "Lucy Stoner", which refers to a woman who kept her maiden name after marriage, like Lucy Stone, who didn't change it after marrying Henry Blackwell in the 1850s.

I wouldn't be surprised! I bet the stars in general would get some pretty wild letters—I wonder if there was a separate pile the secretaries made called "marriage proposals"
As to whether Clara humored this guys request, I have no clue
