Sherlock Holmes (1916)

Post by dachshundonstilts »

Can’t remember if I shared this back when I made it a few years ago... scenes from William Gillette’s “Sherlock Holmes” combined with the only sound recording of him playing the character (20 years later, at age 83).

Nice bit of work! That really makes the silent film come alive! William Gillette certainly seems to have made a good Holmes.

Thanks! It was fun to do. Would have been incredible to see Gillette in his prime. He had already been doing the play about 17 years when the film was made.
