Thanhouser Film Company

Post by BettyLouSpence »

There are currently over 50 films, all produced from 1910 to 1917, that are available for viewing on the Thanhouser website.

You might recognize this company as the one Florence La Badie acted for and is most associated with. Maude Fealy also worked for Thanhouser.

Try not to get lost in their image gallery!

I watched the first short on there, also the first one ever released by Thanhouser. It's called The Actor's Children (1910). Oh, I love the early ones, and Yale Boss is in it, the boy with the coolest name in pictures. This one is not really a special short, but I think all silent shorts are worth watching. ☺️

I second that! :D

My favorite of the Thanhousers that I've seen yet is probably The Evidence of the Film.

Here's one that I love - Shep's Race With Death (1914).
