Favorite photos of silent stars
Re: Favorite photos of silent stars
I love those photos! They have a way of making the stars look so angelic and otherworldly.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

There was something that kept bothering me about that photo, so I corrected it. Can you see it in the before and after?

I didn't notice it before, but now that you mention it, it's definitely noticable! Nice job!
Edit: I'm looking at it again, and rather than it being a flaw, I think that was just a ray of light coming through between curl and neck.

Yes, that's what it was.
Here is a beautiful photo of Buddy Rogers and Jobyna Ralston in Wings. Look at the lighting in this one.

Here's one of Lillian Gish that I'd never seen before. This is from the FB Silent Film Group.

Oh wow! The lighting is so beautiful! I wonder who the photographer was?

She looks more like she's falling asleep! I like to imagine she closed her eyes, her elbow slipped, and she caught herself.
