Favorite photos of silent stars
Re: Favorite photos of silent stars
That's a fascinating photo. It's always interesting to me to see off-camera shots of actors and actresses on the set.

Speaking of which...Here is a shot of Douglas Fairbanks on the set of a film being directed by Allan Dwan (not sure which film it would be).

Gene Gauntier, the leading lady of Kalem. They were a traveling company. They used photoplay making as an excuse to go to Ireland and then Egypt to make their stories. August 1912.

Nice picture, Kitty!
Gene Gauntier's regular job was a film scenario writer according to Wiki.
Unfortunately she appeared in a few films as an actress.
Re: Favorite photos of silent stars
Yes, she wrote a bunch of the photoplays too.

Above is what appears to be a behind-the-scenes snap of Ann Pennington, Jacqueline Logan and Billie Dove. Did the three star in a film together before? Or is this just them meeting outside of their respective films at the time?

I tried the advanced search for people working together at imdb, but couldn't make much sense out of the results it was giving me. Here is is if someone wants to give a try. Nice photo, anyway, though.

A very strange David Lynch movie. (Aren't all of his films strange? )
