What a tragic accident—that material really was dangerous. It's surprising there wasn't more loss of life than there was from it—and when you consider that it ran through hot projectors with arc lights... Somewhere on YouTube there is a demonstration where a man sets afire a reel of nitrate film to demonstrate what it would do.
