The Beatles

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Re: The Beatles
I've never heard that one. Rather unusual, isn't it?

Re: The Beatles
Beatles for Sale is, on some levels, my favorite Beatles album. It was where John Lennon's creativity as a songwriter really blossomed, with a strong influence from Bob Dylan. Those first three tracks, "No Reply," "I'm a Loser," and "Baby's in Black" (as well as others), all have a note of melancholy that makes this album seem deeper than the group's previous efforts. There are a couple of Carl Perkins covers, which are fairly forgettable, but on the whole I really dig the relatively dark and serious mood of this LP.

Interesting info—I’m ashamed to admit that this is the first I’ve heard of this album.

Ringo Starr's big birthday show will premiere on YouTube at 7 CST—so, two hours from now. He's turning 80!

Re: The Beatles
It's funny, I tweeted about the Beatles today and then later found out that Ringo was turning 80 today. Now it looks like I was just jumping on the bandwagon.BettyLouSpence wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 5:59 pmRingo Starr's big birthday show will premiere on YouTube at 7 CST—so, two hours from now. Ringo 80. Impossible. to. believe. Well, I'm glad he's still here.

Time will tell if the oldest Beatle becomes the last one living.
