Annette Hanshaw

Post by dachshundonstilts »

I can always enjoy a nice tune by Annette Hanshaw, popular vocalist of the late Twenties/early Thirties. She had a smooth and natural tone, unlike some other flapper singers, and used the trademark sign-off "That's all!" decades before Hee Haw.

I love Annette Hanshaw. :D She's my favorite songstress of the '20's, by far. I've actually posted a few of her songs previously in the Favorite Old Songs thread, but I've not heard either of these two. Thanks for making a thread dedicated to her!

I'll repost this one, one of her most charming.

That’s a good one! I’ve heard that song in a Porky Pig cartoon, but not in a “proper” version before.
