Bob Seger

Post by Kitty »

Of course I'd heard of Bob Seger, but I'd never really listened to his music before. Until I was writing my blog post for tomorrow, that is! I learned that I really dig his sound! This is not one of the songs that is going to be featured in the blog post tomorrow, but I listened to this song today. The music made me feel that same warm happiness feeling that goes all the way out the eyes with tears when I hear a particularly bluesy Janis Joplin song.... or any really good blues sound, for that matter! It's not the lyrics, it's that basic blues feel that gets me in the chest every time.

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Same here! It's interesting to hear what he sounded like—I had thought he was more of a folk singer. I think I was probably confusing him with Pete Seeger.
