It's Shirley Temple singing Japanese nursery rhymes!!

That's very pretty, isn't it? I'll bet she had to work hard on that text.

I curious about the label. It says it's manufactured in Japan, but says so in English. And below Shirley Temple is the abbreviation of German and "mit Orchester." ??

I think it means "with orchestra".

Right, but I'm wondering why it's in German if it's a Japanese record?

Oh, sorry! I already forgot that it was Japanese not German. It's been a long month. 😆

Here's a version of the Black Bottom tune by Johnny Hamp's Kentucky Serenaders, 1926:

That’s a good one—so catchy, and everything ’20s seems to be distilled in it. :D I’ll bet that sold a lot of copies.

Edit: I just listened to this again through AirPods. It’s amazing the sound quality that some of those late ‘20s recordings have.

Re the label, I wonder what “Orthophonic” and “VE” mean.

Must mean it's for the Victor Orthophonic Victrola. I'm not sure what VE stands for.
