Everyone knows this one, and when I hear it I know why The Twist became a craze. I'm All Shook Up!

There's a female version, as well. Pretty much the same song, except from her point of view.

I guess this is the Rudy Vallee song mentioned in the 78s thread. I wonder what was so funny?? I like the background laughing of the others, too.

 Yes, that's it. Thanks for finding it.

I don't know what was funny, unless he thought the lyrics corny (I'll hang my heart on a weeping willow tree?). Or it could have been they were all in one of those kinds of silly moods where you tend to laugh at anything. What seems odd to me is that they kept the recording session going after it had obviously been spoiled.

They probably figured he'd gone on for half the song without a hitch, why not finish it?
Anyway, it was interesting! Old song, too! Thanks for bringing my attention to it.

Another Rudy Vallee selection. This one displays the rather unusual instrumental combination and arrangements that were used in the pre-big band days of the late '20's. It almost sounds as if there are several simultaneous, closely related melodies going on at the same time.

Now I wish I hadn’t posted that—I can’t get it out of my head. I’ve played it 48 times straight in my brain and it WON’T STOP.
