I like Helen Kane—in small doses. :D It's interesting that she had a number of impersonators and really defined a whole style in the 30s.

I think she's fantastic! I love the part in aint'cha where she goes on to say that she won't be nice anymore if she doesn't get the things she wants hahaha to me that's hilarious. She's all sweet then she threatens to be mean.

One of the Helen Kane imitators was Marjorie Kane. I used to assume they were related, but apparently not. Here she is in a clip from The Great Gabbo (which is a weird early talkie from 1929 starring Erich Von Stroheim—not really a great movie in the usual sense, but fascinatingly odd on so many different levels—but that's another story).

I agree, small doses for Helen Kane. I hadn't realized her career stretched into the Fifties.

Guess her most lasting legacy is Betty Boop.
