L.A. Noire - KTI Radio Soundtrack

Post by BettyLouSpence » Wed Apr 05, 2017 12:18 am

In L.A. Noire, a video game set in 1947, there's a radio station, KTI, that automatically plays when you get into a civilian car. I loved listening to it when driving around - all the 40s songs that would play! Bobby Sox Blues and Murder He Says were and still are my favorites.

0:00 "A Little Bird Told Me" - Evelyn Knight
2:36 "A Slick Chick On the Mellow Side" - Dinah Washington
5:15 "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens - Louis Jordan
8:18 "Battle of the Blues, Pt. 1" - Big Joe Turner
11:08 "Before Long" - Louis Armstrong
13:57 "Black and Blue" - Frankie Laine
16:47 "Bobby Sox Blues" - T-Bone Walker
19:25 "Eager Beaver" - Stan Kenton
22:31 "Hey! Ba-Ba-Re-Bop" - Lionel Hampton and His Orchestra
25:24 "Humph" - Thelonious Monk
28:15 "I'm Confessing (That I Love You)" - Peggy Lee
31:34 "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall" - Ella Fitzgerald and The Ink Spots
34:38 "It Was a Lover and His Lass" - Maxine Sullivan
37:50 "Juice Head Baby" - Cootie Williams
40:56 "Manteca" - Dizzy Gillespie
44:01 "Maybe I Should Change My Ways" - Duke Ellington
47:14 "Move It On Over" - Hank Williams
49:56 "Murder He Says" - Dinah Shore
53:07 "My Heart Is a Hobo" - Bing Crosby
55:10 "Near You" - The Andrews Sisters
58:09 "One O'clock Jump" - Count Basie
1:01:08 "Oop-Pop-A-Da" - Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker
1:08:35 "Pistol Packin' Mama" - Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters
1:11:34 "Red Silk Stockings and the Green Perfume" - Sammy Kaye
1:14:11 "Seems Like Old Times"
1:17:05 "Sing, Sing, Sing" - Gene Krupa
1:21:52 "Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette)" - Tex Williams
1:24:45 "Stone Cold Dead in the Market" - Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan
1:27:23 "That's My Desire" - Martha Tilton
1:30:17 "Wolf On the River" - Amos Milburn
1:32:53 "You Do" - Margaret Whiting
Go ride the music!

Awesome post! I love it. Video games don't get enough credit for their soundtracks, I think.
You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Wow, that's a nice collection of music. I love “Murder He Says”! That one’s so catchy, and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. :D Dinah Shore had a lovely voice.

Some of my other favorites were “Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens,” “Eager Beaver,” and “Maybe I Should Change My Ways.” Maureen Sullivan’s voice is charming in “It Was a Lover and His Lass.”

I already had "Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette) in my iTunes library—that’s a funny one.
